When you are a steakhouse, you must serve outstanding cuts of beef!
Fast service! $9.99 steak fries& beer special. Just don't order the steak medium if you don't like rare. It's really rare. I would suggest well. Service was super fast.
The service was awesome, we sat at the bar as we didn't want to wait 15 min to be seated at a table. Our drinks were refilled in a timely manner our food was excellent and had plenty of left overs. Overall it was a great evening, relaxing and very filling. I didn't see my Queensland salad, which is my favorite. So ordered the Aussie Cobb salad with grilled chicken. It was really good!
It is unfortunate that corporations and attempts to create more profit, cut into the quality that could be, or was.
I have found outstanding New York steak at Nash's on the Esplanade in Chico. They have a great dinner menu. And very good drinks as well as outstanding service.
I began going to Outback Steakhouse many years ago. Beginning in the Bay Area in Cupertino, California. Steaks were always outstanding. Along with service and food quality. I moved to Chico in the spring of 2016. My first few visits to Outback in Chico, near the mall, were great. Later that summer I noticed the steak quality had diminished remarkably. No longer were they the thick, juicy cuts of New York or Victoria's Fillet as I remembered them. I inquired with several servers over my last few disappointing visits over a year ago. (Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me). They suggested that the Outback Steakhouse had changed beef suppliers. I don't know if this is true or not, but I can say after last night's experience, due to the fact that I had a gift card. It is no better and I would not return. Steak quality CONTINUES to be poor. Lots of gristle and lots of fat and just not as thick or tender as the cut of New York steak that I'm used to getting here at this establishment. They have so much going for them with their ambience, good service, good drinks and bartending, and great side dishes. If only your steak quality could be as good as it was two years ago.
Anything less will only take away from your business over time.
I recall Outback Steakhouses always being packed and super busy. I noticed that this Outback Steakhouse has a lower than normal rating in the reviews and was not busy the last few times that I have visited. I can only hope that they improve their steak quality in the future.
The staff was wonderful. Food was great too. The wait on our food was a little long because of a birthday group. The manager gave us desert on the house. Which was totally unnecessary but greatly appreciated.
I would also like to mention that Basque Norte on the Esplanade is another surprising place to get an excellent steak.
Staff is always great and friendly! Food is prompt and rarely with any issues. Only once I had my steak arrive a little under, but it was quick to be fixed with a free extra side. The strawberry daiquiris are very delicious here!
