Great Breakfast menu, Top 2 in town. Lunch is really good. I just prefer the breakfast. Have eaten here hundreds of times never had a bad experience. The line can be a bit long on a weekend
I come to Coda pretty frequently, and the food is always great. I recently visited on a busy Saturday and our waiter was very attentive and quick. They also have great options for Vegetarians/Vegans, if you're so inclined!

Honestly... I really do like this place. I enjoy the food, the coffee, the ambiance, I even like the tucked-away downtown location. Heck, coming here on a rainy day makes me love living in Chico even more.
Had a great first time visit there with my son! Great food and service and nice atmosphere! Definitely on my list of likes!
It's time to step up your game, Cafe Coda.
My complaint is this:
Food is fresh and original. High quality everything! Vegan and vegetarian options which make me happy, and love the French press coffee. Service is excellent and staff friendly.
If it's not a blank and emotionless stare into your face, it's an annoyed tone and one word answers. I've consistently felt as though I were just "in the way" and that it would be much better for them if I just left. I wanted to believe that it was maybe this terse, all-business, "hipster" style that they had going, but I've been to places like that. They may act all business and cool, but don't act like jerks and treat you like you're an inconvenience. I wanted to love this place, but I don't love businesses that do not make you feel welcome and just look at you like you're an idiot. I can go to Denny's, pay half of the cost for worse food, and get treated way better.
Consistently and without fail, they are just plain cold and rude. Not a warm or courteous bone in their body it seems. Not even a smile.
