I had previously gone here for strep and for that I thank them for doing a good job. However, this is an updated review. I seen a Dr. Xuan Nguyen on March 20th for a typical UTI. He had me pee in a cup, then told me it came back negative. Then he proceeded to prescribe me a Z Pack antibiotic. I was leery of this but trusted him. Wrong idea. The Z Pack is a horrible choice for a UTI and not even an acceptable one as both my doctor and pharmacist told me when it failed and I had to get in to my primary doctor. I am also allergic to some antibiotics leaving me limited. So basically he screwed me with his way of treating this. I even asked him so if its negative why am I taking a Z Pack and he responded "because you have symptoms." I have reported this to Ampla and am trying to get a formal complaint against him. I have now had a UTI for a month, when it could have been cured immediately with the right antibiotics. Instead it got worse and I had to try Doxycycline which almost nipped it but not quite, now I am on Cipro. I can't help but think if he gave me doxy at the start I'd be over it by now. Very disappointed.
I currently take my grandchildren to Ampla Health for all their medical needs. The nursing staff is always friendly and get us in as quick as they possibly can. They recently opened an Express Care and the wait times are a lot less than Prompt Care or Immediate Care. It is so nice to have another option.
I went into ampla for my anxiety appointment I love how welcomed the staff made me feel, they we're really helpful and informative to any of the questions I was asking. My doctor and the staff are good in my books.
Please, if you have any other options, do not seek treatment here. I have been receiving "care", though I use that word loosely when discussing this place, for 3+ years, and in that time it has gone from being passable to deplorable. I will use a recent visit to illustrate my point. I was recently seen and diagnosed with a Sinus Infection. I was given a series of medications and told to call/return in the event that I wasn't feeling an improvement in 3-4 days. At this point it's important to note that one of my medications was a 10 day stint of antibiotics. After 7 days with only worsening symptoms, I called in and was told to come in as a walk-in, which I did. Flash forward to the actual appointment, and I spent less than 3 minutes with a medical professional. I saw the same physician I had seen a week prior and even though it was her that told me to come back in 3-4 days in case of worsening symptoms, she told me that since I hadn't finished my antibiotics (10 days), she would be unable to help me. She prescribed them to me for 10 days, tells me to come back in 4 if no improvement, but tells me after 7 she cannot help until I've finished my antibiotics. So they are going to bill my insurance for 3 minutes of no treatment whatsoever. Tricks like that feel just a bit like fraud to me, especially considering the fact that this place is one of the only places Medi-cal is accepted in Chico. Spare yourself the time, money, and headache, go somewhere else.
If I could give it 0 stars I would... Worst place ever... Would not send my worst enemies dying dog to them... Rude careless and hurts patients... Won't send patients to where they need to when tumors or cancer is found... Would rather die a horrible death then ever go there again
