Better than expected. Del Taco has made effort to upgrade their offering. Looks like freshly chopped ingredients(refrigerator glass doors exhibit chopped and unchopped vegetables). Tried the Epic Burrito Grilled Chicken Avocado. Pretty good. Went back second time for same. Consistent quality.
Not all that different from Taco Bell, but a bit more expensive. I give them credit for offering street tacos as a standard, and the Del Taco was decent. The steak in the street tacos was pretty good, though the red sauce somewhat overpowers the taste of everything else. The decision to add a slide off avocado was interesting, but not including lime juice or wedges on street tacos was baffling. Altogether, a good experience, but not the kind of food that really deserves the massive following it gets. I'll try some of the other unique offerings in the future.
Great inexpensive Mexican fast food, not truly authentic, but fresh. The employees were singing "happy birthday " to a fellow employee in the kitchen, which was pretty loud, and everyone focused on that person, including the cashier, but it seemed like a team "upbuilding" moment, so that's cool. The quality of the food is great, the dining area was clean, and they were pretty busy with the drive-through. They may need another bathroom, they only have two men's/ women's and they were both taken when we got there. A lined formed behind me and my disabled father, the people in the stalls took a LONG time. We waited about 10 minutes, and when one of them finally opened it was an employee (changing to his uniform).
Food was fresh hot and great quality. Service on the other hand the employee training another employee wasn't familiar with the menu and when I told him of about a meal deal he argued with me and said no it does not come that way. I had to tell him to turn around and read the board and rule number one never argue with a guest. Other than that quality and speed was awesome
I like the food mostly, the burrito has way too much tortilla and not enough filling, but I think the biggest issue I have is the fries are barely ever cooked, and I have asked 4 times for my fries to be well done, and they don't pay attention and just give me the semi cooked fries anyway. So that is the worst thing about this place so far. But it does taste good for what I have had so far. Please cook the fries crispy golden brown, not pale soggy and bendable.
